All About Rana

Right now our lives seem to be a lot about Rana, but in a good way. Nothing like last year at this time when it was all about Jace being hospitalized and coming home with an oxygen tank. So, first let me document that on MLK day I gave Rana the Mommy quiz about who Dr. King was and why he is important to us. Having never seen an African American at her school, I asked her if there were any. She said, "Yes, Michelle." Michelle's last name is Rodriguez. So sad, since there are Rodriguez's in my family. I really need to culture these kids!

She also got a taste of cheerleading last night, which I have to admit makes me proud. The senior high in our district puts on a cheer camp for the little ones as a fund raiser every year, and then they perform at the half time of a varsity game. Here's a little video. She's the one with brown pants and curly hair. So cute ...

HOW CUTE! I'm sorry but I have visions of a toe touch! So glad she didn't try one of those. Did you ever tell her about that? She looks so much like you!

Velvet, I love reading your blogs. I just know I can always laugh. But this time I just had a big ol' smile. I'm lovin' Rana. The video was great. She really knew some of those moves!

We did some MLK projects too. Lily told me that Charlie (Gonzalez) in her class is black. We were also at a school volleyball game and she asked if she could go play with the black girl (from the Patel family). Basically anyone who isn't white to her is black! Funny!
Rana is such a cutie!
